Congressman Kim Update on Coronavirus Preparation

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement providing an update on efforts to ensure Burlington and Ocean Counties are prepared to handle the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak:

“This morning, I convened a call with leaders from major hospital systems and health departments across Ocean and Burlington Counties to hear their concerns about the Coronavirus and ensure that our local hospitals and health care organizations have the resources and support they need to keep us safe.

Across the board, the feedback I got from these leaders is simple: we must communicate safety measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus and ways that people should seek treatment. I also heard loud and clear the calls for more resources to help hospitals and health departments prepare for a potential spike in cases throughout New Jersey.

This was the first of many conversations I’ll have with community stakeholders and health care leaders, and I’ll make sure you’re updated along the way. Later today, I’ll return to Congress from New Jersey, and will be pushing my colleagues in the House to take decisive action to make sure our local leaders have everything they need to be prepared.”

Congressman Kim is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website by clicking here.
