Congressman Kim Statement on 100,000th
COVID-19 Case in New Jersey

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) made the following statement in response to the 100,000th confirmed case of COVID-19 in New Jersey.

"This is more than a horrifying milestone, it's a stark reminder of the work ahead of us. Since the beginning of this crisis, we've now seen more than 100,000 New Jerseyans test positive for this virus, more than 5,000 lose their lives and more than 850,000 lose their jobs because of the economic impact. If New Jersey were a country, we'd have the 8th most reported positive cases in the world.

In the weeks and months ahead, we need to see testing numbers increase, the number of actual main street small businesses getting real relief increase, and direct aid to our states and counties increase. If we don't see increases in the things that will put an end to this pandemic and get people back to work, we're going to continue to see increases in the devastating impact this crisis is having on our communities, businesses and state. Congress shouldn't stop working until we come together and find real solutions to get these numbers going in the right direction."
