National Security, Military & Veterans
I will use my national security background and expertise to be a voice for a strong, responsible and strategic national security operation that balances defense, diplomacy and development.
Veterans that have served our country deserve every opportunity to succeed, that means a strong VA with world-class medical care and wrap-around services that are efficient and effective. It also means recognizing military credentials in the civilian workforce, strengthening GI educational benefits, ending veteran homelessness and supporting veteran-owned small businesses. There are no more reliable and trustworthy worker than our veterans.
Protecting Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
I will be a champion for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, which is the second-largest employer in the state, providing more than 100,000 local jobs and supporting $7 billion in economic activity in the region.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House passed an amendment by Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) to provide additional funding to programs that help veterans and military spouses start small businesses, and small business owners access to training and capital to grow.
Two of South Jersey’s congressional representatives may have come up with another way to provide federal funding for a highway overpass project deemed critical for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst’s future.
Securing funding to build an overpass on Route 539 by the joint base has become a top priority for Reps. Andy Kim, Donald Norcross and other members of New Jersey’s congressional delegation, as well as state and county lawmakers. But Friday’s amendment to a House budget bill marked one of the most promising developments to date.

Congressman Kim Calls for De-Escalation Strategy in Middle East
Washington, DC – Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement in response to news of proposed military action against Iran:
The key defense policy bill was advanced from the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday morning and includes several provisions related to perfluorinated chemical contamination, including $121.3 million for clean up work and remediation of drinking water on or near military installations.
Protecting service members and their families from possible health impacts from a toxic chemical found at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and more than 100 other military installations across the nation is a key priority in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
The final bill was advanced by a 33-24 vote that featured “yes” votes from all three New Jersey Democrats on the panel: Reps. Donald Norcross, Andy Kim and Mikie Sherrill.
Some of New Jersey’s congressional delegation may be new, but protecting and enhancing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst continues to be a top priority for the state’s lawmakers in Washington.
